Setup

Installing Theme

  1. Download the theme file from “My Purchases” link on Marketplace Dashboard.
  2. You will get a theme file called danish.zip
  3. Login to your WordPress dashboard admin.
  4. Go to AppearanceAdd NewUpload Theme
  5. Select the theme file (danish.zip), and click Install Now
  6. Finish, and you can activate the theme.

Installing Plugins

Danish have any plugin dependencies. To installing those, please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Appearance → Install Plugins
  3. Install all required plugin. If needed, also install recomended plugin.

Setup Menu

Setup Header

Danish comes with custom header image support. Important !! Recommendation images size for header image is bigger or equal to 1000px x 250px. To setup it please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard admin.
  2. Go to AppearanceCustomize.
  3. Click on Header Image.
  4. And Choose your own image.

General

A. Image Logo

Danish allows you to set your website logo easily. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → General
  3. Click Enable Logo.
  4. And then Upload Logo

C. Skin Color

Danish allows you to set your website skin color easily. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → General
  3. Click Enable Skin Color.
  4. And then Choose skin what you need

Typography

A. Typography

To setup it please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → Typography
  3. Select section you want to set.

Homepage

A. Quote

You can add quote to the header of homepage :

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard admin.
  2. Go to Danish Theme Options → Homepage
  3. Make sure to slide ON ‘Show Quote’ option.
  4. Fill the quote and source of quote.

B. Category Section

You can add category section in the homepage. Category section is place in the bottom of header. You just :

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard admin.
  2. Go to Danish Theme Options → Homepage.
  3. Make sure to slide ON ‘Show Category Section’ option.
  4. Below is category section will display

C. Portfolio Section

You can add portfolio section in the frontpage. Portfolio section is place in above of footer. Please follow this step below :

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard admin.
  2. Go to Danish Theme Options → Homepage.
  3. Make sure to slide ON ‘Show Portfolio Section’ option.
  4. Below is portfolio section will display

Blog & Page

A. Excerpt Length

To change how long your excerpt follow these steps:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → Blog
  3. Slide to number you want (the default is 20)

B. Navigation Type

To change what navigation do you need, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → Blog
  3. Choose navigation or pagination you want (the default is navigation)

C. Page Title of Article

To change page title of frontpage-article, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → Blog
  3. Click ON in Enable page title.
  4. Then fill the title of page what you want
  5. This is page title will display

Social Account

Danish comes with social account support. This social account can be displayed in your footer. To setup it please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard admin.
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → Social options.
  3. Select On the social account to turn it on.
  4. Enter your social account url. And make sure you fill those link correctly.

Footer

A. Copyright

 

Danish has footer feature to display your site footer info (copyright). To setup them please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Danish Theme Options → Footer
  3. Clik On in Show Copyright
  4. Fill copyright form with text to whatever you deserve.

Frontpage

Danish allow to make static page in front page. You can make your own front page dinamically using page builder as you need. This is how to setup your front page. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Pages → Add New
  3. Make your page what you wanna display in front page.
  4. Choose page template what you need.
  5. Click Publish
  6. Then go to the Settings → Reading
  7. Click A Static Page as Front page displays then select your page what you wanna display in front page.
  8. And make sure you save changes. Done!

Category Featured Image

To add featured image in category, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Posts → Categories
  3. Then upload or choose image what you want to make it be the image featured category.

Portfolio

Danish allow to document and publish your work in portfolio post-type. This is how to publish your work. Please follow the steps bellow:

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Click Portfolio → Add New
  3. Fill the form, title and description of your work.
  4. Fill all form of portfolio detail
  5. And you can choose single image for ‘cover’ of your work, and multiple featured image for gallery of your work.

Gallery Posts & Lightbox

To create a Gallery posts please follow these steps

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard
  2. Go to Posts → Add New
  3. Click Add Media

  4. Click Create Gallery

  5. Choose Upload Files or Choose files from Media Library
  6. Click Create a New Gallery located on bottom right
  7. If you want the lightbox works PLASE DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP.
    On Gallery Settings, choose Link To → “Media File”

  8. Done

Widget

Danish comes with 4 Widget to make your site look beauty. There are two kinds of widget.

1. Sidebar Widget

Sidebar widget is a widget that can be used to beautify your website sidebar (and footer). And below is a list of the widget:

  • Danish About – Displaying your profile in the sidebar
  • Danish Popular Entries – Displaying your popular posts in the sidebar.
  • Danish Site Info – Displaying your site info in the footer-right.

 

2. Content Widget

Content widget is a widget that can be used to beautify your content of your site. And below is a list of the widget:

  • Danish Portfolio Full Width – Displaying post of portfolio in the content of your frontpage.

Updating Theme

We highly recommend you to use Child Theme: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

We have included the child theme inside the theme download package. The file is: danish-child.zip. Please install and activate this child theme.

Notification Please make sure you have back up the parent theme before updating the theme.

To update the theme:

  1. Please download the latest update theme from Market Place.
  2. Log in to your web hosting with cPanel or FTP tool (FileZilla).
  3. Access the theme directory wp-content/themes/
  4. Rename the old theme. For example from danishdanish-old-v1.0
  5. Log in to your WordPress dashboard admin.
  6. Go to Appearance > Themes, and start installing the theme.
  7. Done, and don’t forget to Activate the new update theme.
